Washing Machine Warranty

I have just purchased a new washing machine from John Lewis. My machine has just died on me after seven years. They asked if I wanted to extend the warranty (it comes with a three year free one) and I said no because I never used the warranty on the other one.

Is there a company that I can myself purchase a warranty from for machine breakdown.
I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.

There are companies that do warranties[SIZE=-1] Warrantdirect comes to mind but my personal view would be to leave it as the odds are you will pay more by taking out an extended warranty than just paying for a repair if it ever goes wrong

You can still add the John Lewis extension after buying, but of course do check what other policies are out there as well.

There was a similar thread yesterday. Self insurance is a better prospect. Save £10 a month while it is in warranty - you'll have £360 by the end of three years! This is enough to pay for any major repair, or even buy a new machine should yours die.

I think we will leave it for now. As was said - save a tenner a month and it will cover any costs. Our machine that has died has not been any trouble for seven years and is used every day for heavy clothing - jeans, mens work wear - its only known hard work. Thanks for everyones advice.
