Drinking Holiday Insurance

What about GB residents who visit NI, crossing a sea but not an international border? What if they then cross a land border to the Republic
My understanding of it is they'd need to be residents of NI not GB residents on holiday in NI for the reciprocal arrangements to apply. Which makes sense.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
What do dental implants - either in the UK or in France - have to do with anything?
Why are you obsessed with the subject of dental implants?
I think your obsession with travel insurance is clouding your mind, it's an incredibly simple analogy. Dental work can be very expensive yet most people don't have dental insurance - if you're going to get up on your judgemental high-horse (it was mainly others doing that I know) about those going abroad without insurance then you should do exactly the same to everyone who doesn't have dental insurance.0 -

I know a few people who've had to pay thousands for dental implants in the UK. I know no-one who's had to pay thousands for health treatment in the EU.
Yes I know they exist, and you can find horror stories online, but I'd wager that far more British people end up paying big money for implants here in the UK than end up paying big money for health costs in another EU country.
So if you're "stupid" not to insure against potential health costs in another EU country, you're even more stupid not to insure against needing implants in the UK.0 -
Interesting
I literally wouldn't be able to stop my OH from travelling to me if I was in hospital abroad. We're certainly not a dependant joined at the hip couple but he wouldn't entertain not been there for me. Fortunately though- the travel insurance would cover itI can sort of understand why your spouse or children might not want to fly over at the weekends to visit you though if you wouldn't want them to. You'd probably only argue with them0 -

The difference is that cheaper options to implants often aren't satisfactory and can cause lifelong issues, which is why so many people opt to spend thousands on implants. Recovering in Dublin likely won't cause lifelong issues.
Personally I'd be more likely to spend thousands on implants than to spend thousands on repatriation (if I had to pay).
Others may be different.0 -

I think you'll find that I don't have an obsession with travel insurance.TBH, I don't give a toss about whether people buy travel insurance or not - as long as they understand the limitations of the EHIC or the implications of not having insurance at all.
And from what I've read on here, a lot of people don't appear to understand that at all.callum9999 wrote: »Dental work can be very expensive yet most people don't have dental insurance - if you're going to get up on your judgemental high-horse (it was mainly others doing that I know) about those going abroad without insurance then you should do exactly the same to everyone who doesn't have dental insurance.
And of course, should someone ask about the advisability of not having dental insurance, I can always point out the error of their thinking.0 -

I understood this was the Overseas Holidays and Travel Planning board so yes, I really do not understand what the cost of dental implants in the UK has to do with it.0 -
If I win the lottery, I'm getting implants whether I need them or not.
Actually, everyone on this thread can have them on me, save you getting insurance foreverChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0
