PetPlan only covers pet's dental - no other insurance does.

But PDSA works on donations and is only available for people on low income/certain benefits.

My cat's teeth cleaning was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than 200 each - fortunately they are insured with PetPlan

Co-op will also cover dental providing an annual dental check is carried out (same as pet plan)

Yes I am with the PDSA as I do qualify, but the vet was almost bullying me into paying a large amount of the £100-200 quoted.

I decided against having him having the anesthesia just to clean his teeth, which in my opinion are not that bad actually, I will take him to my local Pet Parlour where he has his nails trimmed.

Thanks for all your input , much appreciated.

Just had Tia's teeth done (last Thursday). Vet checked her out during the pre-op check and said one may need extracting but rest were fine, took the £30 pre-op bloods offer so got a quote of £129 + extractions (they were doing a special offer on dental scale/clean for £99). Got a call at lunchtime to say they were concerned at some of her blood results - the ALT and ALKP were high and he wanted to run full bloods - I gave the go ahead. Collected her at 6pm, they'd had to remove 3 teeth as when they touched 2 of them with the probe they disintegrated, total bill £340! Bloods weren't too bad, ALKP is double the highest range it should be but for a dog of 13yrs old her bloods were pretty good.
