I've been thinking of doing some sort of voluntary work again and have been looking at a few different options.
I've just be listening to a lady on our local radio who was trying to get people involved in the 'Beanstalk Charity' which helps primary school kids who are having problems with reading. She said most of their helpers were women but they were particularly keen to get more men involved.
Has anyone ever done this ? Did you enjoy it ?

I wasn't working with children with difficulties in reading, and it wasn't through a charity, but I used to listen to readers when my boys were younger, and I loved it! And I felt it helped too, you could see children improving, or flag up if you thought there was a problem which hadn't been spotted.
