NatWest Young Persons Railcard

I posted this elsewhere but thought someone may also be able to help here...
I got a student account with Natwest two years ago. They offered either £100 or a free 5 year national young person's rail card. I thought I would waste the £100 so opted for the rail card. But by the time it came round to filling in the paper work I had so much other paper work from university I just never got down to doing it.
Would I still be able to claim the rail card?
I feel I'm entitled to it but worried there might have been small print. What do you think my entitlement, legally, is?
Please don't chasitise me about not having done it to deadline - I know its silly, but there really were a number of reasons.
Also, I know this isnt quite the right forum but I figured I am trying to reclaim something from the bank so perhaps there's a similar process...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you tried speaking to someone in your university branch about it? they're more likely to know about student accounts than at other branches. and you can just ask at customer services without giving your name, so if they say no, you could always try writing/ringing them and speaking to someone else.....?!:happyhear0

I can't see why they would say no - you would be entitled to the rail card
if you had taken it out in the previous years. By not taking it out you have not cost them anything (they made a small gain if anything).
Just give the student line a call and explain the situation. I'm sure everything will be ok.They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
DD got this last year and there was definitely a deadline for applying - about mid-December for an account opened September.
You could consider closing/re-opening your account, or why not go into your branch and ask how you can still get it? My NW are quite helpful with these things.
Good luck - deffo ask, you've nothing to lose.0 -
I'm in the same situation =( Completely forgot to get it last year, but you have to reapply for it every year anyway, so I'm hoping to get one this year!~Diminutive0

My friend tried to claim his (Account opening last September) at Easter and they told him there was something like a 4month period in which to claim your rail card otherwise you can't have it
Should of taken the cash :P
