Bah! - that old and tricky chestnut - Car Insurance :eek:
I renewed my car insurance through confused.com in April and the premium from Budget Insurance was just over £230. I signed up, paid and sent off my NCD proof from my previous insurer and thought all was well.
Next I receive a letter from Budget's NCD department disputing the level of NCD I have. Currently I receive 6 years NCD on this vehicle dispite having a 13 year no claim driving history and not so much as a parking ticket - but my 13 years NCB is used up on another vehicle. Either way my (65%) 6 year NCB does not qualify for Budgets Maximum NCD and hence my premium has shot up to £253.00. Okay so it's not that much of an increase, but it is the principle.
Budget asked for evidence of Maximum NCD and I sent them a letter from my previous insurer which clearly stated Maximum No Claims earned, however be warned that with some insurers, what is considered full no claims with a competitor may not be accepted as full no claims to them!.
However, they have done me a favour, since in the interim I have contacted my previous insurer More Than and they have offered me a revised quote of £199.60 or £220 with No claims protection, and YES, 6 Years is considered Full No Claims to them
. So Nuts to Budget!, and Thumbs up to "More Than" for an excellent service.
