HP PhotoSMart R837 Digital Camera Uploading to YouTube?
I got myself a Hewlett Packart PhotoSmart R837 its a 7 Mega Pixels 3x Zoom
came with Docking Station,1GB SD Card
carry case rechargeable battery,it was Todays Special Value on QVC Shopping Channel its got a 30 day money back gaurantee.
Anyway I film a Movie Shot Video Shot around the house during the day
I was not too impressed with it ability to film in low light and my house during a sunny day is not dark,
Its records 640x480 Bit Rate 352 kbps a 1 minute movie came to 47-6 MB file size frame rate was 24/second audio sample size was 8 bit
to be honest I was talking over the film and could barely hear it.
I played the film back and it was fine I tried uploading to www.youtube.com
I am on a 2 MB Dsl download about 175kilibtyes upload it took a very long time and stopped at the 99% mark I think it saves file in Mpeg format.
Where am I going wrong guys Is it the camera?
Is it Youtube.com
Should I contact Hewlett Packard Tech Support if it exists?
Regards,
Heidy
At 45 MB per Minute Videoed that means I barely get 20 minutes before the
Digital Camera is completely full I do realise this cam can take cards up to 4gbs.

What is the problem? I don't understand by reading your post.0

If you want smaller files, you can compress them or purchase a camera that uses MPEG4 compression for video. That way you will get up to 67 minutes of 640 x 480 pixel video at 30fps per GB of memory card.
An example to be found here; http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-L80-Digital-Optical-Leather/dp/B000L3IF9E
More details here; http://www.samsungcamera.co.uk/product/pro_view.asp?prol_uid=1616&cat_uid=10
How much did you pay for the HP?0 -
Someone has posted a test video shot by a camera lower in the range; http://media.putfile.com/Samsung-Digimax-L60-Video-Test
It's 25MB, so takes a while to downoad before playing. Hope it works for you.0 -
I have just spoken to HP Indian Tech Support for the Digital Camera its does NOT
support YouTubes Recommended MPEG4b(Divx,Xvid)format
320 x 240 resolution
MP3 Audio
30 Frames per second
I will have to ask YouTube directly about their recommendations for digital camera brand.
It seems I walked into it buying QVC Shopping Channel Todays Special Value
for £194-00 UK sterling.

I need something shorter than that.

It seems that you have missed post #3.
It's good value at that price and perfect for your needs. You're unlikely to find something similar at that price.
Some Casio cameras utilise MPEG4 compression, but they will be more expensive; http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000HDUII4
£194??!! What on earth were you thinking?0 -
