New Adult APD Rates

It has been well publicised that UK APD ( Airport Departure Tax) has been abolished for Children but it seems that little is known about the changes effective from 01/04/2015 regarding adult rates.
Apparently even Thomson Holidays are unaware that due to the banding changes the cost of APD on flights greater than 2000 miles distance in cabin classes above "economy" i.e Premium Economy/business/first have actually been reduced.
The old rate for example to Carribean destinations was £170.00 per adult but this is now reduced to £142.00.
So if you have booked any holidays or flights before 01/04/2015 you may be due a refund of APD.
Some airlines in anticipation of the changes charged the new rates before 01/04/2015 but not all and they seem to be trying to keep it quiet or like Thomson denying any changes have taken place.

Sorry as a new user I'm not allowed to post a link to the government website concerned but search for "New APD rates" and you will find the information.0

Shouldn't this be in Flights or the main Overseas Forum, not Bargains?0

Sorry, perhaps you could move it to the correct section?0

It was also reduced on Economy flights.
It was announced pre Budget in March 2014, before most airlines had released flights for April 2015, giving them the means to price it in from the initial sale of any flight. Very few, if any, will have overcharged.

Sorry to poor c0old water on the chance of a refund but Thomsons 'premium' is below the 40 inch pitch limit so they haven't been charging the higher rate of APD in the first place, so no refund due at all0
