    Hi please try Halifax. They were great. I just walked into the branch with all my ID. As they were rather busy they said I could open an account online.

    Please note that I had been discharged for one year before I applied.

    I opened an account within 10 minutes online - a basic one.
    After 8 months of using a basic bank account I applied online to upgrade my account.

    Halifax will not touch her with a barge pole as she has only just gone BR. It would be a total waste of time.
