Yes good old days were you wasnt worried about the money for tickets but worried about the away fans lol !

Me and a mate went to Arsenal and Cheski a couple of seasons ago ticket,drink,food and transport cost us nearly 200 pounds.

Its all money now not about the fans.

Imo the hard core fan have gone now.

If you have a look on trivago for the hotel, but if you don't mind sharing book into a hostel, you can often stay for less than £20 and it's just somewhere to put your head at the end of the day.

For the tickets try Stubhub a few days before, touts nearly always start panicing and sell them cheaper than what they paid

I know, I try to get down to as many games as i can in the season but when it gets to these big matches its daylight robbery! i think there is still hardcore fans out there but football is turning more and more into a cashcow on every level. its really a shame to feel that way but i cant help but be a bit cynical

thanks dawyldthing, these are really great tips. I've got a bit of a success story on both fronts: i got tickets yesterday for not an obscene amount and i booked a hotel room bang in wembley 2 minutes from the stadium through laterooms, who threw in a £10 voucher for amazon! Red letter day for me, really chuffed. Now just have to wait til May 30th! COYG

I just saw it on their twitter mate! Turns out it was a good choice - my missus just text me saying they've sent me a load of gooner goodies in the post as a thanks for booking. Guess they must've worked out I was going some how ? Beats me, the internets a weird place. Anyone else had something like this happen?
