They keep hooting about increase in the number of whiplash claims, but they don't announce that they are avidly buying or setting up law firms that they then use to push whiplash claimants into?
The rise in whiplash claims (if indeed there is hard evidence and not distorted data that is years old being quoted here) is due to insurers being more efficient at sniffing out potential injury claims when their customer reports a non-fault accident and the insurer then puts the customer through to the law firm they own to make a claim.
Any rise in claims is not as a result of the idiots who cold call people - although they need dealing with properly and the insurers also need to stop selling their data to the companies who then make the cold calls.
All problems the insurers bang on about ultimately lead back to their own doorsteps. Don't be fooled people.
I don't think they have a clue what's really happening, but as you said - it's all of their own making.
