Help to plan London trip?

Hi all
So me and my mum want to take my 3 little brothers (8, 10, 11) to Ripley's believe it or not London in the may holiday and I'm trying to work out prices, how to travel etc...
To make a day of it, it would be nice to visit other places if there's time to - quite like to go to the Natural history museum, and it's free entry which is good.
So far, I've worked out that online ticket for Ripley's is
£67.96 (Family ticket - 2 adults 2 children)
then +1 extra child ticket at £16.96
= £84.92
Our closest station is March, Cambridgeshire, so we're thinking it's going to be cheaper to drive down to Hoddesdon where their nan lives, park the car at hers, walk down and catch the train from there (I think it's called Rye Park) into London. I assume booking online through a company would be cheapest?
I was also wondering about the best way for us to travel around london to get to other attractions?
I literally have no idea about the travel and where everything is located in relation to each other so any help to plan the day would be really appreciated!

I'm not aware that London has left the UK yet...?
So until it does, you might be better asking in the UK Holidays Forum.0 -
Ooopsy! Yes you're right, I've posted in the wrong forum section! Sorry

TBH, the Nat History museum is a day out in itself. It will be busy on bank holiday weekend, easily an hour queue to get in if you don't get there when it opens, and once in it's a good few hours to see everything. We usually get there at 10ish, stop half way for lunch and leave mid-afternoon. It's also a bit of a trek from Ripleys.
You might be better off just finding things to do near Ripleys or taking the hop on/hop off sightseeing bus and saving the museum for another trip.
There's the British Museum, which is closer to Ripleys than the Nat Hist, you can walk in in 15 mins or a short bus ride, it's still free but nowhere near as busy. Plus you should see the Elgin Marbles before we do the right thing and give them back to Greece
The London Transport museum isn't far from Ripleys either, it's free for children, £16 for adults, £13.50 for over 60's but that gives you an annual pass. It's only a 10 min walk and you have the street entertainment in Covent Garden too, which the children will enjoy.
If it's a nice day there's the Princess Diana memorial park in Kensington Gardens, it's an wonderful place, with huge sandpits, a pirate ship, teepees, just loads for them to do, that's free too.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
