Barclaycard Success!

Thought it would be worth sharing a good news story. Basically I defaulted back in 2009 on my loan/cc and agreed reduced payments etc. I noted from my credit report that Barclaycard hadn't entered a default till 2011. I queried this with them and within a day of emailing a letter to their social media relations team I received a response from them, apologising for their error and removing it completely from credit file (which they have now done) I know a lot of people have had various degrees of luck with them but I was shocked at how quickly they dealt with this.

How were they marking it? With an AP/AR, or just arrears until that point?
Good news though.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

They just had it marked as being 6 months late (basically for 20 months before the default was actually registered!) I never went down the road of a formal DMP, just agreed payments direct with the creditors.
It is great news though and I thought it was worth sharing because I can't help but wonder if the fact that I went via social media contributed to the fast (and positive) response.0 -
It may have done, may have not. There is such inconsistency in this sometimes that it's hard to tell. Would have done no harm though, certainly.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I had the same result. APs and not defaulting it and charging intrest.
Got interest returned, removed from credit file, and a 60% settlement offer.0 -
