Sellers Absolution from Delivery Responsibility

I whole-heartedly agree. I send everything I sell via 1st or 2nd recorded. I've been stung once, never again (turns out the buyer had a history for 'not receiving goods)!!Cat72 wrote:I always get a COP but due to a flood lately of people saying thay have not got their stuff, the first time it has happend to me after 500 odd deliverys. I now insist on sending it 2nd class recorded. Just to prove to myself that they have never recieved it. The other problem I have with the COP is that the post ofice take forever to process the claim. I have been waiting a month for one claim and when I phoned the royal mail thay said they are snowed under at the moment. With the casual summer postman season coming up it will probably get worse. So recorded for me from now on.0 -

If I ever saw a seller with a neut or neg for goods not received I would avoid them big time.
When I buy from ebay I expect to get what I have paid for. Due to sellers who believe they give up all responsibility once they put the package in a post box I never now buy unless I can use paypal.

That's what I thought!
Is there an Ebay Term&Condition anywhere (I can't find one!) which explicitly states this? I really feel like quoting it to the 'offenders' who try to exclude themselves from the 'responsibility of delivery'.0 -

I don't bother pointing out the error of these sellers ways, I just tend to avoid them. However if you look through the paypal help pages you should be able to find a nice snippet about chargebacks, don't forget though this only covers you for paypal payments.

If you wish to circumvent this you would need payment by means other than PayPal.
I knew I would get flack for that comment but tell me people.....short of hand delivering how can any seller make sure a parcel gets delivered?soolin wrote:If I ever saw a seller with a neut or neg for goods not received I would avoid them big time. When I buy from ebay I expect to get what I have paid for. We prefer to deal with paypal but have had a few buyers send us a cheque and have never had any chargebacks because we do full refunds if buyers not happy.jstyles wrote:I really feel like quoting it to the 'offenders' who try to exclude themselves from the 'responsibility of delivery'.
I have never listed an item where I say I'm going to exclude myself from responsibility.Just because I think it doesn't mean I do it.
If a parcel gets damaged we ask for item back and do a full refund including all postage costs. And only once has a parcel of ours not turned up and we spoke to the buyer and was going to do a full refund but she mailed the next day to say it turned up.....just a bit later than we expected it to.Just because I think my responsibility ends at the PO doesn't mean I'm a bad e-bayer.I go out of my way to see my buyers happy......I would even go so far as to say that if a buyer wasn't 100% happy and wanted a refund I would do it just so that they would hopefully buy from me again in the future.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
