Driving myself crazy looking for a holiday!

Hi all
It's been years since I've booked a package holiday (mainly booked flights and hostels in last few years). I want to go away at end of June for a week with my OH. Don't mind where, just want it to be warm and sunny! I feel like I'm going round in circles when looking online. If I find a good deal then the reviews for the hotels are either awful or appear made up.
We were looking for all inclusive holidays but now I'm wondering if self catering may be a better option overall. I have only done AI once before and that was in the Bahamas!
If anyone is able to help/point in right direction these are our requirements:
Departing between 26th and 29th June for 7 nights.
Flying from Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham - would consider London for a bargain!
Budget £400pp (up to £500 max for an amazing deal but would rather £400)
3/4star hotel
Any destination considered!
Thanks in advance.

I would love to help but only luck will find you the perfect last minute deal.
My advice, if you find something that suits your needs, don't tie yourself up in knots with reviews: what some love others hate!!
So long as it is a good deal, somewhere warm and sunny and if the hotel/accommodation isn't top notch you just don't spend much time there.
Sometimes you just have to take a risk and at the time of year you want to go, I think you might be pleasantly surprised.
Good luck

£252PP flying from BHX to Turkey. OK reviews, there seem to be loads on Thomsons, why are you struggling?

I had a quick look on the First Choice website and there's a few places within your budget, just depends on what you want and where you want to go

Reverse engineer your holiday takes away that frustration.
sort out which hotel first. i.e look on tripadvisor, find one you like the reviews of, handy if u put your dates in as then u get a feel for the price range too. I tend to pick from the top 30%
Then build your package around your chosen hotel.
Most internet packages/ tour opps I find try to steer you the opposite way, sending you to where THEY want you to go0 -

Thanks for these. I was steering away from the main travel operators as thought they would be more expensive but there are some good deals on First Choice from the looks of it
. Will investigate more later.
budgetflyer - that could be the way to go if I don't find anything I like.

Why don't you find a hotel you like then book the flights and hotel separately?
I would say you are better off with self catering in Europe and I certainly wouldn't recommend a cheap AI hotel in Turkey as they are normally poor quality, it is far better to go SC in Turkey unless you are prepared to pay for a high class 5* hotel.0
