Each year I try to buy a few trays of geraniums from the little Sainsburys quite near us. Usually I go too early or too late but this time I mean to be there on time.

Anyone got any idea when they get them in? I live in Hertfordshire.

I've been waiting for modules of sweet peas in Sainsburys but I'm not sure if I'm too late or too early either. Anyone seen any? (I'm on the Isle of Wight)

Why go to sainsburys etc when you get better quality/ value from nurseries and garden centres. They at least water and look after them, some even grow them thselves.

I do go to independent nurseries and garden centres but they don't have what I want in the way of sweet peas for my elderly mother. She has had Sainsburys sweet pea plants for five years now and they out-perform anyone else's.

I agree with tensing and have always found that their plants are well looked after, so it must depend upon which store you go to. I have experimented over the years but always go back for these.

I buy from a variety of sources and have found both Sainsburys ad Waitrose to be the best for my requirements.

I saw sweet peas at the weekend, in NE London/Essex. Hopefully they'll be coming your way soon.

I got some last Wednesday. £3 for around 20. I just potted them on this weekend.

    They looked very healthy

Got my geraniums in Homebase in the end. I also bought some lovely Senetti (colourful daisy type plants), petunias and a few other bits. No sweet peas though, maybe soon.

Now I am going to plant them out. It is hot and sunny at the moment and no sign of frost in 10 day forecast so I am going to take a chance as I have the time to do it right now. Exciting.
