Hey there, just thought i would give an update on or pumpkin and squash patch. With this warm weather the plot seems to have raced away and now from 5 plants we have around 20 fruits which have set.

How are your doing? more fruits per plant? less? arw they rotting off, or have you even harvested a few yet.
Other new this week. More gladioli, runner and dwarf beans, too many courgettes to know what to do with and sweetcorn in flower.
Regards

Hi Lottieblogs,
I'm also in Northants and I've had my first success with courgettes - after 3 years of trying. Bit late sowing/planting out but I've got approx 3 or 4 on each plant now.
I looked into an allotment 2 years ago but it wasn't that near and I didn't think I would have enough time - just as well, its now a housing estate!7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
Courgettes are great but my tomatoes (garden) seem to be rotting. I have removed all the offending tomatoes but will any more grow?0

Could be blight? Dark brown patches on leaves and sunken brown on fruit plus blacken patches on main stem! If so, destroy plants, clean area and try again next year!!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -

Our squashes have taken over the veg patch and really spread out. There is quite a bit of fruit and plenty of flowers. Would it be wise to pinch out the ends of the plant to try and control the growth and make sure more energy goes into the fruit?0 -

depend on what your after, more fruits of less size then leave them, less fruits of bigger size then pinch out.
choice is yours0
