Just been checking my quarterly new style bill (what a waste of paper 5 pages mostly blank) and on page3 I have been charged twice for the Standing Charge. Once in the Day/Night calc and again in the Heat calc.

Rang nPower and they are looking in to it !!!!!

Is there two separate meters? If there is, both meters will hold two standing charges, not necessarily of the same amount.

That's been the problem, Super Tariff has one meter but two supply numbers.
Been on this tariff for years and only ever had one standing charge.

That's interesting just checked the old bills and always had two supply numbers, since the end of last year only one.

Well two supply numbers would normally carry two standing charges. These may have just been combined in the past for convenience.

What was the standing charge amount when there was one, and how much is each standing charge now?

No, the super tariff had 2 meters but only one standing charge as it is one account. The only reason it is 2 meters is one for heat, one for other electric. The electricity being supplied comes into the house in one go and is then split hence one standing charge.

I had to laugh though when I checked my account as not only have they now put one meter onto economy 7 which I didn't ask for and don't want (the general meter), they have also for no reason put my heat meter onto a standard tariff and removed the super tariff. This comes after they took 6 months to correctly switch a DD and closed my complaint without resolving it.

So third complaint about to go in. I think they are of the opinion that people just give up after a while but I'm not going to!

    Only one standing charge though.
