New card or balance transfer???

Hi all. Have a credit card that still has 8 months of 0% purchases available. It is also easily clear able as there is very little on it.

However, my computer has died so I need a new one urgently, it will take me about 16 months to pay it off.

Should I use my current card and do a balance transfer down the line or should I clear this card and take out a new one with 0% purchases for 18 months or so?

My credit rating is pretty clean from what I can tell and I'm hoping to keep it that way?!?!

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

If you can get a new card with 0% on purchases now then I would do that.

The reason being is that otherwise you may well have to pay a balance transfer fee in 8months time (if there are no cards offering fee free balance transfers at that point, or if you are unable to get a card from the odd lender that is doing them).
