Haven - General or Specifically Primrose Valley

Hi all

Anyone with experience of Haven, specifically Primrose Valley?

Off there on a sun holiday this weekend and just noticed it says check in is 4pm rather than the midday we’re used to at Butlins.

That’s a bit late to actually do anything when we get there with a 4&2 yr old who’ll be wanting their tea and off to bed by 6ish.

Is the 4pm check-in just for the caravan itself? Can we park up and access any of the site facilities before check-in?

If not, anywhere nice nearby to go? obviously the beach, but weather is looking sketchy.

Also, while I’m on, we upgraded to a ‘luxury’ van, anyone know what this relates to in terms of havens caravan range, i.e standard, standard+, deluxe, deluxe+, superior?

Thanks

Brighty

We went to Haven at Easter, We arrived before 12 and were allowed to check-in and given our passes so we could use the facilities, just that the van wouldn't be ready until the specified time. However we parked our car outside the van and the cleaner popped out to say she would be done in 15 mins and then we were free to move in.

    That's great, thanks flipper

Found the following on the haven website T&C's section too

    http://www.haven.com/support/terms-conditions.aspx

"If you arrive before your check-in time, you can relax and enjoy our facilities until we’re ready for you."

    Excellent

Yeah we have never had a problem using site facilities prior to check in time, plus always pop along to reception a little early they let you have the key if it's not been too busy the previous change over for the cleaners. Hope you had a good time.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

Primrose Valley is a great site plenty to do, and there is plenty in the surrounding area, we had 2 weeks there last summer and could have stayed longer and still have plenty to do, if you have a car I advise you drive across the moors to scarborough/Whitby it is lovely scenery very reminisicent of heartbeat if you ever watched that
Take every day as it comes!!

I went to Primrose Valley many years ago for a half term, end of season break, with our two sons. The weather was atrocious , but we still had a good holiday.

I imagine that facilities will be improved since then, too.
