If my recent experience was anything to go by, the Ikea delivery service are getting it right.
I purchased my items online, and was able to pick a delivery day to suit me - they handily deliver on a Sunday in my area. A very acceptable delivery charge of £35 for quite a few items. Great communication via email & text to update me & ask if any access issues & a call an hour before delivery to let me know that they were with me imminently. Even the delivery guys were cheerful !
Very impressed with their online shop & delivery service

they weren't so great for deliveries. I remember quite a lot of man with a van operations who would provide an ikea delivery service.0

On our delivery one package of many was found to be missing, which prevented us putting the furniture together, it took a couple of weeks to deliver the missing package which was then found to have damaged parts and had to be returned another delivery (10 days further on ) was necessary to finally get what we ordered.
They were apologetic at all stages but seemed to have difficulty actually getting things to happen.0 -
Ah that's a shame, the fulfilment and delivery service I experienced for this order was excellent, really can't fault it"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510

We had a really good experience with Ikea delivery, again booked for a Sunday, confirmation (by e-mail and text) and telephone calls received prior to delivery stating delivery within the hour (and to check postcode). The driver and his assistant were very polite and friendly, and placed the three shelving units in the room we wanted them to be in.I worked as a case clerk for the IS for a number of years. Any views expressed are my own. If your query is urgent, please contact the OR or LTADT dealing with your case directly.

I had a really good experience with an Ikea delivery too. I bought my son bedroom units from the Stuva range, which consisted of 41 packages. I expected something to be missing or damaged, but all arrived in perfect condition. The communication with regards to the delivery was good too. It was a much more pleasant experience than I expected it to be.
As for the units, they look fab, or cool as the young un would say, and are very solid. Would highly recommend. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. Another good experience here. DS ordered quite a bit of furniture to his new home only mistimed it and was out himself when it came.
The delivery drivers asked DS's GF which room various things were going into and put all the boxes in the right rooms for her.
Everything present and correct with no damage. Great experience all round.0 -
Me not too happy.
My house has 3 floors. And I bought wardrobes & drawers in 4 different bedrooms in top 2 floor.
Then they told me they are only able to put all delivery in one room, which I haven't notice that is in their T&C before I order.
I end up asking them to move it in a bedroom on first floor and moving half of it by myself to the next floor.0 -

You should have got them to deliver everything to the highest floor, furthest room. They might have changed their mind then lol. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson.
