debt relief order and defaults on account

I took out a debt relief order in may 2009 and have really learnt my lesson.
Anyway its due to drop off my credit file in may this year so i took a look at my credit file. I noticed that 4 of the creditors on the DRO have got my account as closed/settled in may 2010 and therefore the default will stay on my account until 2016.
I was under the impression that once the DRO had been put into place nothing further could be added to my credit file from that date. I contacted these 4 companies and only 1 have replied at the moment. They said that I am wrong and that yes the DRO was made in may 2009 but the debt is upheld for 1 year and the account is not classed as closed until 1 year later which is the discharge. It is then that they update my credit file and it is 6 years from that date.

Is that correct?

thanks
laura
