Depends on the job and the company......I can't as there are security implications with customer data so the client insists on wired rather than wireless and no mobile access. Which to me seems sensible.

As you can see by my username I am approaching 40 so no spring chicken, but if you can use an internet forum you should be fine.

Although i sort of get the gist of what they're doing both seem to scant on specfic details.
I'm none the wiser if i have to sell stuff ? :o
  • Dont waste your time with surveys.

They are dull and badly paid. They are the default choice for those will little imagination and cant be bothered to create decent income using their own brain.

No, it does not involve selling! We have to sign a very strict Non Disclosure Agreement due to the high profile client we work for, that is why details on the internet are scarce.

If you are fairly intelligent, are familiar with the internet and have lived in the UK for at least 5 years I would say give the qualification process a go for one of the companies that take on web search evaluators - Appen, Leapforce, ISoftstone and Lionbridge. Not sure if I can post links on here.

During the qualification process you will find out more about the job, what it involves and if it is for you.

...New to all this -is it all surveys ? .Are there any work at home jobs that would be exactly same as say working in an office ? Ie a home based job where i would have to log in a certain number of hours and get paid by the hour ?
    Thxs

Yes it is true. I work online as a virtual secretary and I get paid by the hour also.

In case when freelancers' earning depends on the result of their work freelancers have to work more than office workers and sometimes they even don't have holidays.

Yes, sometimes they have to work more than office worker and holidays are rare too. But if you could schedule your work and timings freelancing is good.

    Yes they do exist

My current job I work 31 hours (reduced at my request from 40 ) fixed hours in what is essentially a customer service/technical support role for a household name entertainment and communications company.

I'm paid an hourly rate - paid holiday , pension, free company products in my home and commission on any sales -although I'm not technically in a sales role and do exactly the same job as my colleagues who work in the company's call centres.

So yes these jobs do exist.
My contract says I can't discuss the client's name on the internet but a search of the forum for past posts will show the details as this outsource company has been discussed several times in the past on this forum in relation to their work from home project.

I've done the same job for seven years so it's stable employment.

I can't name my own client but I can add I also know of several other companies who offer similar roles including a large home shopping organization, a large high street catalogue company and a car hire company.

Hi I am looking to find out more about opportunities working from home due to a change in circumstances however as people cannot talk about the details I am struggling to find out how to search for these jobs or what companies recruit for them, is it directly through the company or special agencys?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I wish if Amazon Mturk was available in the UK as many of my US friends make $70 a day on it and they recently turned it into a full time job. I find it odd that Amazon does business in the UK but they are restricting the UK from their service, but I heard that it's hard for them to verify the non US workers due to the taxes and many fraud accounts were from people outside the US.

Even if Mturk was available in UK, the amount of jobs for us would be limited.
