Am i covered under the Imdemnity Insurance

I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this
I moved in to a house last year.Which came with a conservatory.
The previous owners had no Fensa certificate to go with this(they said that they had lost this). So they paid out for an Imdemnity insurance to cover this on our behalf.(it was fitted in 2002)
Just recently i have noticed that there is a large gap between the end of the conservatory frame and exterior wall which i had not noticed before.Have i got any grounds to claim on this with the insurance that was taken out or is this down to me to pay.,to remedy this work.
Thanks

The insurance covers you for problems incurred by the actual window fitments not complying with Building Regulations. ie. Building Control asking you to replace the windows that comply (they may even comply!).
It is not a guarantee of quality of any sort. Maybe the people that fitted it offer a guarantee. Some come with 10 year guarantees. You could try calling the EA but stuff like this will usually be passed to you by the previous owners during conveyancing.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Didn't your surveyor pick up on it when you bought the house? What kind of survey did you have?0
