I am thinking of buying a 1bed flat with the intention to divide the massive lounge into a smaller lounge and a 1 more bedroom. Will they let me do it? How much it could cost?

Is this part of your Buy to Let plan?
And who do you mean by "they" when you sayWill they let me do it?
There is simply insufficient information to even T-shirt size (S, M, L etc) any work/alterations/changes, let alone provide a cost figure.0 -
no, it's seperate from the buy-to-let plan
I mean ''they'', anyone, the authorities, the flat owner that will give me the leasehold, any that could stop me from doing it0 -
Yes, they will let you do it.
If they cause you any problems just tell them that someone on MSE forums said it would be fine.
Alternatively you could do proper research before you buy. For a start, have you seen the lease?Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
very funny
no, I haven't seen the lease0 -
Get professional advice. If you can't afford it, don't even think about your nutty plans. One minute you are asking about housing benefit, then buying to let...get real, love!0

I want to explore possibilities, what's wrong with it?0

anyone has experience if I can freely convert a 1bed flat to 2bed ?0

is there a builders forum or anything similar to find semipermanent soundproof walls to divide a room into two?
I can't find anything online, a building product that does this0 -
It's called a stud wall.
You will need building control approval and approval from the freeholder who will charge a fee and may or may not give consent. Planning permission may not be necessary.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
