Two things I hate about wardrobes:
1) The back of them is always that cheap ply wood that folds in the middle. Sometimes if you miss the rail and your hanger pokes the back it may fall out. Why can't they supply a stronger bit of wood???
2) Eventially the doors (at least one) don't close properly coz it's wonky. My friend has a set of wardrobes where there is no door frame (i.e the door doesn't tuck into the frame, the doors just covers the open space if you know what I mean) so doesn't have this problem. She got it from Allders which is now closed down.
Anyone recommend decent wardrobes that doesn't have the above two problems?
I'm even considering getting a built in wardrobe fitted, anyone ever had this done and if so, how much was it?

I have been looking at a lot of wardrobes. Laura Ashley £1000, M&S £800, John Lewis £1500. I wanted something to last, not a flimsy one.
As a matter of interest, I asked my BIL, who is a carpenter, how much it would be to have a wardrobe made- just a sturdy, plain but well made one. Off the top of his head he said a stand alone would be about £6- 700, a built in one a lot less. (We have a very obvious alcove in our bedroom, so easy job.)
Totally agree with flimsy backs, wobbly doors etc.0
