Old Rotten Sofa Disposal

Hi,
When we moved into our rented home over two years ago there was 2 old sofas in the back garden and 2 old chairs in the allotment. We reported then to the letting agent and they said they would sort it. This has been reported time and time again to them to get rid of them and they have not. It is now looking like the only option we have after over two years of continuously reporting them to be gotten rid of is to get rid of them ourselves. The problem with that is that we do not drive, and after them being in the garden for so god knows how long I wouldn't like to ask a friend if they can use a van to get rid of them. Does anyone know of a cheap way of disposing of them? As obviously we don't want to have to pay out way over £100 for a skip for something that isn't even our own waste and the council will not take them due to the fact they have been there for god knows how long which is completely understandable.

Smash it up, and put a little bit in the bin each week?
Would take a while, but if they've been there two years...0 -

I would personally write to the letting agents informing them that they have 28 days to remove them before you arrange it yourself and forward the invoice to them. I wouldn't be paying out of my own pocket to get rid of someone else's rubbish.0 -
Could you ask a neighbour to contact the council, reporting that the upholstery is attracting vermin ?0

Do your local authority not offer a large item waste collection service?
Ours take 1 item for £20 and a fiver for each extra item.
Ask for a receipt and pass this on to the letting agents as they should be paying! Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

We cut our skanky old sofa up into little pieces and put it in the bin!
I would write to the LA and tell them that if the sofas are not removed within 14 days from receipt of letter, then you shall pay to have them removed yourself and deduct the amount from your rent.
your local council should do removals of large items for a reasonable charge.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Follow this process for success:
- Purchase an axe and a saw
- Have fun
- Put in bin0 -
You say the council will not take them as they have been there for a long time. how do the council know they have been there a long time and why should that mAke any difference.
Are you just guessing about the Council.
Have you checked the Councils web site. Most councils have a system of picking up large household items. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0
