i have just recently purchased my first die cutting machine (Big Shot Plus) for card making and I am looking to build up my stash of dies.
I know it's probably an impossible question to ask but as dies can be so expensive I was wondering what type of dies I should be investing in. I dont want to buy something I would only use once or twice.
I was thinking of starting of with getting some layering dies and building my stash up that way. But some dies I have seen look so pretty I am finding it hard to resist buying them.
Are there any dies you always seem to use or wouldn't be without?
Thank you all in advance

I would look at the x-cut dies, as they are reliable and well made. They have a range of nesting dies in basic shapes which will be a good way to start off.
I also recommend some of the spellbinders dies as having lots of good shapes and patterns which can be used for multiple occasions.Time is the Fire in which we Burn - Star Trek Generations

I too would look at X cut dies as basics, there are many on e-bay with no P & P that are economical. I started off buying the decorative ones and now find that I should have started with basic shapes, seeing that my whole collection has been stolen from storage I won't make the mistake again!!0

Depending on whereabouts you live I would look to see if you have a Range store near you as you can pick up dies there (mostly xcut) at good pricesTime is the Fire in which we Burn - Star Trek Generations
