ESA50 Waiting Times

I received an ESA50 I had to fill in and have duly done so complete with a stack of medical reports. Does anyone know how long it takes to hear whether you have been successful or need a medical etc?

I found out 3 weeks later when I had sent an additional document to ATOS then called to check it had been added to file. I knew it had been delivered as had done a signed for postulate service. When I called they told me that they had already made a decision and sent file back to DWP. It then took DWP a further 6 weeks to tell me. Again after a call. The letter arrived at week 13 of my claim.

Thank you for the info. Not going to be a quick turnaround then!

To be realistic it is not until week 13 it makes any difference to your claim in regard to finance or sending in fit notes anyway as you still get the assessment phase period regardless. However I was less stresses once I knew it had been returned to DWP at week 3 without a medical as knew that was almost certainly going to be a recommendation of straight into the support group.

I have heard of many people staying in assessment phase for close on a year as waiting for medical.

I send all documents signed for with DWP!
