Credit score lowered

I know your score is a made up number etc but im just curious why my credit score would go down by around 100 points after paying off old debts and all my recent credit in the last 15 months is up to date?

Who knows, maybe to get you to spend more money to find out why.

Don't worry about it though, it's the information that matters, just make sure that the data they hold is correct.

nope i dont pay, im using currently an experian free trial which i will be cancelling and also noddle. Shocking that the score is used as a method of selling.

Anyway all the information is correct etc was just curious if there was any other reason it was lowered.

    Thanks

It's the only reason it exists in the first place, you are the only person who will ever see it.

It may have been due t the fact that the lunch of the day at Credit Score Towers was tuna pasta salad.

Its a good a reason as ever for movement in a pointless invented score.

i wouldnt pay for the score it was more to get the history on my file and make sure it was all up to date, it was just curiosity.

Its an indication of how appealing you are to a lender but i understand each lender has different criteria etc so what appeals to one may not appeal to other.

Just backed up the fact i think its robbery that they charge for this score when they lower it when ive cleared debts etc.

Whats an indication of how appealing you are ?

Your score ? Its not as lenders don't see it, they see your history which they use to determine along with other criteria if your accepted.

what i mean is if someone has a score of poor 528 or someone with excellent 958 then obviously this indicates the excellent score is more likely. Im not saying its anything that the lenders would see but it is an indication based on how they score you.

Not really. People can have a terrible credit history and a good score, and a fairly decent credit history but a poorer score.
