In Trouble from Good Deed?

Lost my thread explaining all but in in brief;

Adult daughter stayed for 3-4 months paying nothing. I get and am grateful for Pension Credit, HB and no CT.

She has now moved out and claiming HB giving my address as her last.

I expect to be questioned on this, so what might happen does anyone know?

I saved the state money as she didn't claim anything, I kept her. ( Have a little capital that is disregarded)

Can't eat nor sleep worrying about it.

I have no computer from Monday so if anyone replies, I can't thank them until it returns, but I will then.

  • Nothing. Non Dependants are disregarded for benefit purposes for 6 months when they move into a home of someone on Pension Credit. The deduction is delayed for 26 weeks but as they have moved out before the 26 weeks there will be no deduction.

    Stop worrying. You have nothing to worry about.

    You should have told the Council. You still can. But as you are on Pension Credit any deduction would be delayed 26 weeks and as she has vacated there will be no deduction as she has left before the 26 weeks.
    These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.
