Loft hatch / building regs question

... So anyway, it doesn't seem as if I'd need to get any official approval to cut a hole through the floor.
Still thinking about it, not going to rush into anything.
There's planning permission already in place to put in a proper staircase, but this means losing both the study downstairs and the bathroom upstairs to fit it in so we are reluctant to make such a big change for occasional use.0 -
Is there now way to put in a corridor in the bedroom your son walks through0
-
No stef, there isn't as it has sloping ceilings, it was originally the attic, so the head height is too limited.0

I'm guessing the doors are not in line, so a stud wall in the spare room creating a corridor is not an option?0

Spacesaver staircase - unobtrusive in the study and a giggle for your lad to use...

Ruski do you know how big the hole would need to be in the floor to fit one of those space saving staircases? I can't easily find much info online about them0

Ideally the same size as the top to toe dimension, so about 1500mm longPerfection takes time: don't expect miracles in a day0
