What to do? What do you want to do?
If you mean you feel the MPPI was miss-sold then put in a complaint explaining why you didn't need it or why it wouldn't have covered you.
Simply saying you were told it would help is pointless as you can't prove it and won't have any documents to support that.
Did you have substantial sick package (e.g. civil service levels 6 months full 6 months half) with enough savings to cover your payments? Similarly could your savings or earnings from a partner cover the mortgage if you lost your job and were unable to work for say 6 months or a year?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
