McAfee refund problems

A payment was taken by McAfee on an automatic renewal on 15/4/2015. I uninstalled McAfee 9 month ago because of problems and notified McAfee. Having received an e mail that this had been taken I went on the McAfee web site to try and obtain a refund but was unable to get anywhere, I kept getting messages saying ' Web page has a re direct loop'. I went on the McAfee forum page and the phone numbers listed were all unobtainable. I did a web search for UK assitance and found a site called Guru Aid who claim to be McAfees representatives in the UK. The operator wanted remote access to my computer in order to obtain my refund. This I refused for obvious reasons. I then found the phone number for the UK McAfee office and was re directed to a very helpful young lady in the Phillipines who states she has arranged my refund.
A note of warning to anyone, McAfee are quick enough to take your money but make you jump through many hoops to reclaim it.

Lesson to be learned here ... first thing to do after installing paid-for software is to visit your account on their website and turn off automatic renewal.

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Do they have a Twitter account? Sometimes complaining publicly on Twitter gets you through to the right people to sort out your issue.
