Good (sunny) day forum..
I am about to exchange contract for a new-build property.
This property is being built in a brownfield; the original plot has been divided up into three plots.
By browsing insurances online quote forms, the original plot address is no longer there but the new 3 addresses are not available either.
I need to buy an insurance in order to get the mortgage before contract exchange.
However insurance companies says they cannot make an offer because the property address is not on their database yet.
Questions
-Is anyone familiar with the process of creating new addresses and how log it takes?
-Is anyone familiar whether there are ways to get an interim insurance even if the address is not on the database?

Are you sure you need to insure on exchange? What does your contract say about it?0

You should discuss this with the developer that you are buying from.
The developer should get the addresses and postcode registered, and assuming they're an experienced developer, the process should all be under way.
Explain that you can't exchange until the postcode is sorted, and that should encourage them along.0
