Is it still possible to open a 2nd TSB account online so I can have two of them?

I did mine in Janurary when I was switching accounts so I have 2 TSB Classic Plus accounts on my single online banking login.

I have recently set a TSB account up for my parents and wondered if it was still possible when I go see them next, to set up a 2nd TSB account by using the same details but not logged in to their site?

You can still open a second, or third, or fourth, etc TSB account, as long as it's not another Classic Plus. You could open the ordinary Classic, or Silver or Platinum, or other accounts instead.

The Terms and Conditions will only allow one sole TSB Plus account since the first was opened this year.

Your parents could each have one, and one joint acount between them, so three accounts between the two people which isn't bad. The joint would have to be opened in branch.

Seems rather discriminatory to me to allow a couple to have both 2 singles and a joint while a single person is now only allowed 1. I have just opened my 1st one so can't get a 2nd.

You can open a joint account with anyone, you don't have to be in a couple, so I can't see how that's discriminatory. Many banks will have the same or similar rules (one sole account, one joint account per person).

Ok. Thought it was just for a couple

Hardly. It's not only for couples anyway. Could be with your best mate or parent.

Some times when you read a thread you get the urge to say things:think:.

Then you think better of it :silenced: and let people think for them selves

I've opened two classic plus accounts which are both paying 5%. I intended to open it as a joint account but in order to make it joint you have to go into a branch which I can't be bothered to do since the nearest branch is 30 minutes drive.

So at the moment both accounts are in my sole name. Not sure if it's a matter of time before one gets shut down....?

I opened two a couple of months ago. Just made sure to log out before applying again. Both accounts show up on the same login and I even got a courtesy phone call from someone at TSB who assumed they were both going to be used as savings accounts and she didn't say anything about the fact I opened two. Therefore I'm thinking they're unofficially allowed.

As far as I can see, TSB are targeting to grow their mortgage business, so it would make complete sense that they want people to deposit as much cash as possible with them...
