Well done.
First car? What ever you fancy, you have to drive it...
Of course the question itself is somewhat open to debate. A lot depends on how much money you have and whether you are looking for style, economy, cheap insurance, best, etc...
Go to the What Car website and have a look at what the experts and owners think...
At the end of the day get what you want.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

enjoy your freedom! I had a little 1.2 corsa for my first car, those fiestas and clios were the most popular.

If I had just passed my test, I am sure that I would not be on a forum asking what car I should buy. There will be as many different opinions as there are answers.
In any case, there are so many variables involved such as , usage, insurance, financials, etc. That there is no correct answer. You buy what you can afford and possibly, what you need.
Good luck with it anyway.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
What car can you afford to insure. My daughter wanted a Freelander. But the £8000 insurance quote put her off that idea.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

I would suggest a 1959 Hillman minx , I passed my test in one and it was my first car , I used to get 375 miles on £5 of petrol , cars cant do that today ! even electric ones
mind you , petrol was 4 gallons for a £1 then0 -
As your driving is impeccable I'd suggest a Lamborghini Hurac!n LP 610-4“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

the one that doesn't tear you a new one with insurance
But what first car? absolutely anything!! you'll love it all the same.
Mention your budget and I'm sure you'll get a hundred differing opinions.0 -
First time
For once I actually believed in myself.
Now, what is a recommended first car?
Congratulations on passing your test, some say your pass your test AND THEN learn to drive .
With that in mind look for something inexpensive and reliable(ish) as chances are you WILL have a bump or scrape (irrespective of blame).
How about a vehicle similar in size to the one you learned to drive in?0 -
If you pass the driving test are faults normally explained to you?.0
