First time :) For once I actually believed in myself.

Now, what is a recommended first car?

    Well done.

First car? What ever you fancy, you have to drive it...

Of course the question itself is somewhat open to debate. A lot depends on how much money you have and whether you are looking for style, economy, cheap insurance, best, etc...

Go to the What Car website and have a look at what the experts and owners think...

At the end of the day get what you want.

Well done :) enjoy your freedom! I had a little 1.2 corsa for my first car, those fiestas and clios were the most popular.

If I had just passed my test, I am sure that I would not be on a forum asking what car I should buy. There will be as many different opinions as there are answers.
In any case, there are so many variables involved such as , usage, insurance, financials, etc. That there is no correct answer. You buy what you can afford and possibly, what you need.
    Good luck with it anyway.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

What car can you afford to insure. My daughter wanted a Freelander. But the £8000 insurance quote put her off that idea.

  • I would suggest a 1959 Hillman minx , I passed my test in one and it was my first car , I used to get 375 miles on £5 of petrol , cars cant do that today ! even electric ones

mind you , petrol was 4 gallons for a £1 then
  • As your driving is impeccable I'd suggest a Lamborghini Hurac!n LP 610-4

Congratulations on passing your test, some say your pass your test AND THEN learn to drive .
With that in mind look for something inexpensive and reliable(ish) as chances are you WILL have a bump or scrape (irrespective of blame).
How about a vehicle similar in size to the one you learned to drive in?
