So you paid this in full to 3, and you can prove that?

If me I would be checking on the other CRAs to see what they have, if anything, about it.

In that case there are a few issues.

- If settled with the original creditor it should never have been sold on. It can only be marked in the name of a collector if it has, so 3 have sold it on in error.

- The additional CRA entry by the debt collector is therefore also incorrect.

So it is a complaint to both.

Threaten to take 3 to their ombudsman and the ICO, and the collector to the ICO.

Before you do though it would be best to check with Experian and Equifax to see what it says on their reports. If duplicated there it strengthens the case. If not it may indicate something else is wrong somewhere.
