Hi SSM
Talking about politics. I would vote to stay in the EU and continue to support the human rights. Personally think scrapping that would be terrible and protects every one. Re the conservatives. Just wait for the pain they will inflict on the less rich people in the UK. The next few years will be hard.
About benefits, about time wages are increased to the level in other EU states, once these are dealt with then that will make work pay. The wages in the UK are low. I think everyone in the UK knows someone on benefits and see another side that does not match what the "media" go on about. You might get a few but that's not everyone

Come on - are you really really shy Tories?
The non Tories are angry at the moment, as they lost and now face 5 years of Tory government. So they have a need to let off steam.
The Tories are relatively happy, they secured the government they want, so can sit back.
This thread has always been a place for those feeling hurt or angry to let off steam, so I see no harm in the short term.
But let's end it at the end of this thread and move forward in search of glitches and bargains and hugs all round.Behind_the_sofa wrote:....but the other way around, it disgusts me and disgusts the rest of us on Twitter to the point where it does get you down.....
Twitter is full of angry people mouthing off; best to take a step back from it if it is getting to you. There are people predicting that twitter is so full of keyboard warriors that it will die its own death in the next few years.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I got the feeling people on here were thinking I was speaking carp about the Tories.
It's nice to see others step up and confirm what I've been saying.
Hopefully those that thought I was speaking carp are beginning to sit up and realise.
There has been riots in London the last few days and the mainstream media have hardly said a thing about it. Twitter removed the trending hashtag #ToriesOutNow not just once, but several times. Tweeters found their post containing videos showing what was going removed by twitter. One journalist tweeted to say "a contact at the BBC has informed me that met police insist on little to no coverage of the riots." If you really want to know what's going on in this country then switch off the damn BBC & ITV and watch Russia Today or Al Jazeera.

I would say a couple of things.
Statistics can be made to say anything, I am fairly sure if we dug further we could find far worse tax avoidance figures for labour, mainly because they seem to adhere to the fallacy that higher tax rates mean greater income for the treasury.
As for the European Court of Human Rights, they are the ones that force us to allow violent criminals to stay in this country because they have a "right to family life" in spite of the fact that several of them have then gone on to deprive a family of that by committing murder. We might just be able to throw people out of the country that have committed serious crimes now.
Recent studies show that 85.9% of statistics are made up on the spotApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
Oh my God, you are such a sore loser! Sorry but fed up of reading your party political broadcasts. This is money saving site not a thread to just whinge about the conservatives.

Morning
Henlans, it's like someone famous has joined the thread
I try to understand the politics talk but it's a bit beyond me. I don't understand why so many voted in the torys, but believe another 5yrs will either prove my own beliefs wrong or make others see what I believe. Until then I'll keep my head down, hope I keep my job and can continue to provide a roof and life for my family. I'll save my stronger views for elsewhere
