Hope you enjoyed it, do you know i have never tried asparagus :o
Bubbs this is what your face will look like when you try asparagus for the 1st time. This picture of our grandson creased me up - he sure does have an expressive face sometimes. Hmmm not sure about this mom!

Bubbs if you like lunch tongue - which I can't eat at all as it has grisly bits of tongue edges - Yuck! You should really like Ox tongue. It's quite a bit more expensive and quite a lot more edible. I don't think it's strong tasting - the pinky bits rather than deep reddish bits are the best BUT it's 100% better than lunch tongue.

Has anyone tried the Palma ham? I tried salami but not from delicatessen area as not on our pick list so didn't compare. Wish we had more to choose from.

This a wee bit long winded (and in my opinion not very well written :o) but it's a great story that has captured my attention tonight

    http://www.warhistoryonline.com/war-articles/german-pilot-in-wwii-spared-an-american-b-17-pilot-over-germany-only-to-reunite-40-years-later-and-become-fishing-buddies.html

    this story touched me.

I have been attending some 'sessions' with my OH in the last few weeks. Married 28 years and as close as you think you can be to someone.......never knew about ghosts that were haunting him. I did some, but not others.

I won't go into too many details but it seems he came across a car that had been shot up in Bosnia. The driver had been shot dead (the Dad) and in the back a woman was cowering over 2 small children so much, he didn't see them at first :( He had to go back on his patrol and leave them :( because the people who shot the dad were still in the area. He never found out if the woman and her children got to safety :(

this happened in the mid 90s and he has never uttered a word of it to me. But he's admitted he has nightmares about it now. Am understanding why he is so messed up after tucking that away for years. I can't even imagine.

I'm still in a bit of shock that I hadn't realised the extent of his problems. There is another incident that took place in Northern Ireland which I did know about but won't talk about for obvious reasons. But I didn't ever know of the extent because he never told me.

    Sorry for rambling :o

evening to any of the Elite still awake. Another late catch up for me, but good news is I sold my old car today, The Nissan Note. Decided to go back to dealers who I bought it from and who service it, and asked them if they would up their offer to nearer one I had been quoted, and they did. Not as much as I would have got if I had sold it last month, but a good price on today's comparisons/quotes. Main thing, it is gone and I now only have the Zafira Estate so please not to have the worry of selling it over my head, as it was getting me down :o
There's good people around too rocky, what about those wonderful people that donated the organs of their tiny son:A

You don't see many tales of good on the news, that's not what makes people watch, but there really is good all around, from the people that help old ladies across the roads to people that make the ultimate sacrifice.

There is still the best of humanity around, believe in it and you will see xx

I see so much stuff on FB with my animal stuff that I would go crazy if I couldn't block it out somehow, at times. I can't ignore it, or look away, as that doesn't stop it happening, so I have to see it. So having this 'pink and fluffy' place to come to really helps ;)

Our buses are very expensive - the 3 mile trip yesterday cost me £2.50  and even then I had a 20 minute walk - our nearest bus stop only has a bus once an hour.

Our taxis are even worse - to get a taxi home from the train station is £6  even though its only a mile and a half - Ive walked before rather than pay that

It's a £13 taxi ride from my village into nearest town, and only time I got a taxi back from nearest rail station, Peterborough, it was £32   That was the night I got back home from Mam's with little Mollie as a pup and Mr 3Dogs was undergoing his op which found his terminal cancer, so I remember it well :(

Alert: no political viewpoint being made by me whatsoever!

I know I was staying off politics, but just been clicking on various news stories around the internet and one of them happened to refer me to an "interesting", and maybe even fascinating, website called isidewith.com. (https://uk.isidewith.com/political-quiz)

Asks you various questions and purports to align you with various stated party policy positions, saying what percentage you agree with each party etc.

My own results, I'm not saying what percentage I got for each party, but:

    United Kingdom

United Kingdom voters side mostly Conservative. You disagree with most United Kingdom voters on almost all issues, especially Immigration and Economic issues. You might want to consider moving to one of these regions.

Seems I'm in a minority on nearly everything again:(. Of course it is oh wise one here. Does no good though to be in disagreement with most voters on nearly everything, as means none of what I want would ever get voted for:think:. When they say "mostly" there, they mean 37.7% to Conservative and 36.8% to Labour. Hardly a great difference between the figures and presumably well within a margin of error?

Based on my answers, the site places me as

    Left-Wing Authoritarian
Your political beliefs would be considered strongly Left-Wing and moderately Authoritarian on an ideological scale, meaning you tend to stand up and protect those who are oppressed or taken advantage of and believe the government should do the same.

It's absolutely right on those last points. I do believe that the government should do the same. What major role is there for government but to protect poor people and the weak and the vulnerable?

When you have result percentages for each party, you can click on "compare answers" for each and see what the party says and what you said. I'm not entirely convinced however: for example, for the SNP, the site says that their answer as to what should happen to foreign aid is that it should increase; however this links to a quote which appears to be where the SNP say that they will maintain foreign aid levels - seems to me to be saying it should stay the same rather than increase. The site suggests the Conservative Party want the death penalty to be reintroduced - however this links to an article from the Daily Telegraph which is several years old and which claims that a group of Conservative MPs were proposing that but no evidence is presented to me that this is actually official Conservative Party policy. I'm not also convinced that one of the answers assigned to UKIP elsewhere is actually their stance.

I'm not going to say who I support, give my stance on anything or get into debate, but instead leave you to draw your own (correct or incorrect) conclusions except to say that one of the parties gave an answer (according to the site) which I thought was a much better position than my own answer, and I've now revised my opinion accordingly:D, but also one other party gave a view that I thought was completely ridiculous - and I even found myself agreeing entirely with the answer of a party whom I'm least likely to support whilst the party I'm voting for (not the one that is the very top in the percentages from this website) actually gives an answer I don't agree with on that question.

    All v.interesting.

Finally, as for the question of whether tenants should receive less I]sic:p[/I benefits if they live in a housing association or council property with more bedrooms than occupants my answer was, of course, no, they should receive fewer not less. However, I was having a jibe there:rotfl:.

I trust that this is all my usual impartial approach and a fair summary by me that didn't side with any party or another:rotfl:.

  • I've found a glitch! Might not be as good as the BNI in Tesco BUT it seems Asda can't do its' meal deals either. Meal deal for £6.50 - I bought Cumberland Pie, Cauliflower Cheese and an Apple Pie.

It might be worth keeping an eye on these as you never know!

Depends what the other items in the deal are - shop done lateish today so not much choice available BUT might be worth seeing what else is in this deal. I remember chocolate trifle, vanilla cheesecake, cheesy potatoes & garlic breads - for the life of me can't remember the other mains. I think there was 5-6 of side, main & sweet.
I got an APG of 20p against Morries. - wasn't expecting anything!

    Here's the Morries comparison.

This has always been the case, as long as I've known. Some of those items - e.g. cheesy potatoes, might compare better vs elsewhere but I don't know/haven't checked. I had something on a womble a few days back but I didn't think I could remember entirely what it was - I think it was Baby New Potatoes/Butter going vs Sains some pence cheaper:rotfl:(likely not to be the kind of stuff in the meal deal). If someone can get a list of all the exact products, and I mean exact, that are in the meal deals, I can look for equivalents in Morries next time, fwiw. (The trouble is the meal deal does not show online so I can't tell from there what is in the deal - this is the very glitch - but I've not checked the shelves in Mr A and, as a result, I've no idea what I'm looking at.)

Shouldn't have bought that Mars Topic on that shop btw:rotfl::rotfl:. Or the Walkers Crisps:rotfl:. What a shame on those, as shop would have worked perfectly fine and been 8 items without. I'd also replace those Egg Custards with something else, as I believe they could be vs Mr T, but that's me onto a lecture again:o:o:rotfl::D.

I'd try and see if you can get GC for the overcharge as would be worth more than the APG on that there.

Goodnight all! (Was just popping in.):)
