New Boiler - Switch supplier? How?
Options
Hi all,
So on Wednesday we will be changing our Baxi Bermuda back boiler over to a Valliant 831 ecoTec combi boiler, we are also having thermostats on all radiators (currently have none) and also the wireless room thermostate aswell.
With our payments recently increased as our DD wasnt covering the energy we were use, do you think its best to shop for a better deal now. How much difference do you think we will see with the new boiler and how would i use compare websites as i only have my old back boiler readings to go on.
Thanks.
Darren

Use your old figures. There will be a reduction in use but it should not be such that it will affect your choice of a new tariff.0

Remember that you'll need to clear any arrears when you switch. Debt over a certain level may result in the outgoing supplier blocking the switch. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

To be fair, the OP has not given any indication of any arrears or debt on the account ... only presumably an increasingly growing negative balance which is being addressed by a revised monthly payment by DD
A debt is not a debt until at least 28 days after it has been formally demanded. Those who have agreed to pay monthly by direct debit rarely ever receive any formal demand for payment.
You are correct that if the OP elects to switch supplier, a final bill will be produced after the switch has taken place and any outstanding balance owed to the old supplier on that bill will be a formal demand for payment.0
