naffing estate agents/vendors

after 3 months of looking and being knocked back on a couple of properties we finally had an offer accepted on a house last night, hooray.

the estate agent stated that it was a "strong offer and the vendor was happy to go ahead with us at that price"

fast forward 12hours and my brokers have emailed the estate agent to tell them we have a mortgage in principle sorted and we dont have a chain and can move when it suits the vendors then the bomb shell the estate agent stated the second viewer has also submitted an offer and the vendor is now considering that offer?

so naffed as houses around here are at a premium and are selling in 24 to 48 hours.

oh well just gotta keep going.

sorry just wanted to vent

  • Nothing is ever confirmed til exchange sadly...

In such as a fast market you've just got to deal with multiple offers upsetting your plans.

On the bright side if it doesn't work out for you you're only down a bit of time, not a £1000 in survey, mortgage arrangement and solicitors fees.

    Good luck!

Well on the bright side, you've sent over the info that says you're proceedable and ready to go, so that is in your favour. Sometimes that's enough to swing it.

As hoploz says. The others may not be in as good as position as you so all is not yet lost. Annoying though!
