  • hi all i havent posted for a while but kids are back at nursery now so back on track.
    1) iv been continuing the clearout and listing on ebay but iv run out of free listings for this month so hoping they offer me more.
2)spring cleaning the entire house and garden so it looks good if we do get a viewing and finishing off any little jobs touching up paintwork etc.
    3) only buy whats necessary (although i did spend £44 in george sale but its all stuff for kids to grow into so justifiable sort of)
    4) use up toiletries
5)waiting for cashback from car insurance to clear in my bank account then i can pay it off CC
6)trying to lose the 1stone iv put on since we were married so that clothes fit properly because im not buying more.
    7) keep earning as many swagbucks as possible from surveys to pay for dds birthday present im almost there.
    8) no heating on and washing drying on line and airer as much as possible
    9) DS2 almost potty trained now so only nightime nappies/ wipes to buy he's not reliable when we go out but im hoping that will happen soon.
    10) we got a free afternoon tea for two (in posh hotels) from aviva rewards which is worth £25 so hopefully we can book it for around the time of our 1st wedding anniversary it will be a nice little treat.

we are going to see mortgage advisor tomorrow so we will see what she says, house has been on market since jan with no viewings so we are considering renting it out its a bit of a risk if we dont get a tenant in but aparently the rental market is a lot stronger than sales around here now we need to find out if we can get buy to let mortgage.
think thats it for now hope everyone has a good weekend :D

    My very boring contribution:

No spend day (although it's not over yet!)
No heating on (starting to feel cool already though)
Meal plan and shopping list done for next week
    Bank checked
    Updated YNAB

DD has a friend around for tea and I'm like a spare part! Should be doing some jobs really...

    Evening Friday Frugal People,
Today I cleaned all of the house except the area around the boiler. Then I waited for the gasman & new boiler to arrive, before amusing myself for 4 hours while he fitted it. Then I wrote a very big cheque.
So not one of my more productive days......& not money saving........BUT I can't tell you how lovely it is to have hot water again. Our old boiler had been unreliable for a long time, a fact that both of us had been trying hard to ignore. Hopefully this new one will be more energy-efficient too. I have baggsied first bath tonight & have saved my 'Lush' Easter bunny bath bomb that my Mum bought me, so will be chucking that in & enjoying a proper wallow! Can't wait!
    Love to all,
    F x

  • Glad your boiler is sorted, Foxgloves. It's a big outlay, but as you said, it will be more efficient and these things are inevitable at some point. Enjoy your Lush bath!

Reading your post, Foxgloves, I can actually *smell* Lush bath bombs, the brain is a weird and wonderful thing, isn't it? Is it a combi boiler? We have a combi boiler here and I will really miss it if we move somewhere without one!

I opted out of going to the gig tonight. As well as the hanging around DH had volunteered to pick up a bandmate which meant a detour plus I get a bit panicky about toilet stops when there is someone else in the cab. My IBS has been fine for a bit but if I get stressy it makes it worse and worrying what everyone else will think if I ask DH to stop in more than 1 petrol station for me to use the loo is more than enough to ensure that *will* actually happen (slightly TMI :rotfl: ) I also discovered that the gig was promoted by a bloke that could bore for England and I'm so over doing things I don't want to do so I spent the evening with a cat on my lap in front of the telly instead, bliss! :)
