My mum makes this too and it's lovely when toasted. Well done to you!

Been on the phone all morning sorting out my tax code. Occupational pension provider hadn't been told by HMRC of my new 'relaxed' status and so applied wrong code. Got a nice amount due back next month. Now that I have no salary coming in it's good to have every penny in the correct pocket - mine!

Now off to forage for kindling.
  • Morning (((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

OH slept well last night and his left hand and arm seem to have recovered, need to check his leg though, he was wlaking on it OK this morning.

He is still in bed, will go up shortly and get him into the shower and down stairs for a while.

Laundry on the whirly, also washed the kitchen fllor. OH asked for soup for lunch so leek and potato on the stove. He wants fish, mash and parsley sauce for supper, I am going to make some indevidual creme caramel for dessert.

I am ok, have to ring SS for an assessment on Monday and also take him to the Drs for an INR test, he has the DN coming at tea time to give him the heparin, his count had gone down very low thanks to them not giving him his cprrect dose of warferin for 3 days.

Hoping to have him back on his feet this time next week.

    Morning Guys,
Haven't been on for a few days, so hope everyone is okay. Ex Hubby is coming home today! Not even two weeks since his accident, I thought he'd be in hospital for months! He has walked six steps too. The staff have been calling him terminator:rotfl:
For anyone who didn't read my post, he had an accident two weeks ago when a two tonne bale of paper fell on him and crushed him. How he survived I don't know, but he did, and now he's home. It will be a long time getting better though. The doctors have signed him off for a year. Still, he's alive. My son is getting over the trauma now, he's still off work, but is having counseling (he saw it happen) but he is getting better. He and his fiancee are coming down to us tomorrow. So really looking forward to that.:T

It's mine and DGD's birthday tomorrow. I will be 56, she will be 5:T
Looking forward to a good day. OH will be here later on. Flowers have arrived from him. White roses and purple fresias (my favourite).

Chicken tonight, not sure what to do with it yet!:rotfl:

    Have a great day all.

    Good afternoon everyone

I was going to spend the whole day in bed as I was so fed up but my friend rang me really early to see if I wanted a cuppa as she had to take her daughter to school. I'm so glad I said yes as she has really cheered me up. We had a good talk about diet and exercise as you do and came to the conclusion we were as bad as each other and made too many excuses. Anyway, by happy coincidence my sister turned up out of the blue and asked me to go back to Slimming World with her on Monday as she desperately wanted to go back but she didn't want to go on her own. I have agreed to go with her and I am really going to try this time. It's funny how things turn out in the end :D.

Hubby is on a half day today so he will be back soon and tonight we are going out to my church for a quiz night. It's not bible based just ordinary questions so I am hoping we won't do too badly. I am quite looking forward to it and it will be lovely spending time doing something with hubby instead of falling asleep in front of the telly as always.

I have my own stories of vomiting children but they will keep as it's lunch time but hugs to all of you afflicted. Actually my sister said that Milo was very very unwell a couple of days after he went home and she had to do some major cleaning of the floor, cage and puppy before her child mindees came in. I am very grateful he was ok here as it would have been a nightmare otherwise.

I am working my way through the freezers still so we have fish and chips for tea before we go out. I have added some slimming world friendly ingredients to the weekly shop so I can get a couple of days head start before I return. Realistically I will probably be munching all the naughty stuff I can before the diet starts though :o.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx
  • Lovely here again.

It is DD's BF's birthday today so they are having a barbecue in the back garden, so no cooking tonight :D

Housework is all done soI am going to relax before their friends start arriving.

dumpling glad that you are a bit brighter today.

Camelot my stove was done in one day. it took a total of 7 hours to do it, watch your labour charges x

Right I am going to put my feet up

BB - It was a set price. They did all the drilling at the chimney yesterday and put the back boards and hearth in. I think they had to wait for that to set before they put the stove in. It's all done now and looking good (apart from the wet plaster round the fireplace). I need to wait a couple of days for the plaster to dry before I can light it - hope I can wait that long!

I have washed all DDs holiday stuff and some if it is dry and on hangers, also stripped the bed my friend stayed in and that's on the line now, such a great drying day.

Unfortunately we have white settees and although they were covered still have black marks on them so hopefully the weather will be good over the weekend so I can get them washed. Once they are all clean I will advertise them as they really are far too big for this room.

Hope you are all having a happy Friday. Take care. XX

DH still tired and weak and could not get him downstairs till 11 this morning and then get a cooked breakfast into him.

Sorted out a third of the laundry mountain and was going to carry on when DH had a visitor so still need to do that later.

Made the base for a cottage pie using up all the veg etc and YS beef mince and potatoes are boiling ready for the topping.

Middle DD popping over for tea and then visiting other DD in hospital
    tonight.

Wanted to do a quick hoover round but DH is asleep in his chair so don't want to disturb him.

    Hugs to all

    Afternoon all,

Had a bit of a potter first thing. Really in a CBA mood first thing. I didn't sleep too well, won't go into detail but DH really annoyed me last night with something he said. It's linked to DD's Wedding and things have changed (he does things last minute) and now I am having a fret about possible outcomes. I need to calm down as I expect it is a storm in a teacup and isn't insurmountable!

Had to pop back to Primark to change the too small vest I bought for DS2 yesterday and picked up a long cardy for me for a £1. :)

    Chorizo stirfry for dinner :)

    Good evening everyone,

Its been nice again today, although the wind is strong and quite cold.

Washed all the towels today and they are outside, will go and see if they are dry shortly.

DD has gone to Bromley to stay with her friends for the weekend, and DS is at work today and tomorrow, so DH and I are going out for dinner, a very rare treat. It will probably just be the local 'spoons but at least its a meal out, I'm looking forward to it.

Sorry to hear about poorly children, thankfully when mine were little it was a rare occurrence.

elona and csarina, hope DHs continue to improve.

Going to get ready shortly. Have a good evening everyone. :)
