puppy damage?

So our new bundle of "joy" has been having accidents in the laminate floor, before we got her I put plastic protection down, but I just pulled it up to check and it has been seeping through.
Now laminate has blown, would my contents/buildings insurance likely to pay out for this? and what would they pay? As it originally cost something like 300 - 400 but now I just want lino as we have a pup.
Thanks in advance
Craig

Check the policy wording. It may exclude damage from pets, if you notify them and they say your not covered you still need to declare it for upto 5 years.
So premiums may increase even if your not covered.
If you just want lino it maybe cheaper than the insurance excess and risk of increased premiums.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The harsher insurers, even if it is covered, may want to apply more than one excess as well for multiple incidents.
Given you want to replace it with vinyl, I cant imagine that it would be cost effective to claim when even from the larger flooring places vinyl is very cheap - even moreso when you go to the independents.0 -

How much is your excess? Have you tried doing quotes for your insurance based on making this claim as if it puts the premiums up 50-100 quid over 5 years to get that off your record you could have just replaced it yourself.MFW OP's 2017 #101 £829.32/£5000
