Scrap value?
Hi everyone, seeking some advice please.
I freely admit that I know less than nothing about cars so would really appreciate your thoughts on this one.
I've finally decided that my trusty P reg Corsa should go to the scrap yard. Now, it only occurred to me today, that it has a stainless steel exhaust system which was fitted by it's previous owner.
My question is, will this make a difference to the amount I can ask for it at the scrap yard?

You can ask ....0 -
Not a penny. It will be put on a weighbridge and you will be paid out for 'light iron' which makes up the bulk of the metals.
The only way you could get more is to take the exhaust off and weigh it in seperately.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Scrap cars are mixed metal prices, That includes rust. Your better off taking the exhaust off and selling it on its own.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

wont make any real difference to what you get.. if its serviceable take it off and sell on ebay/facebook groupsSealed pot challenger # 10

I would sell the car whole as spares or repairs, you may get £150-£200.
As scrap it's £50, plus a fiver for the battery, but less the tyres."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

It depends very much where you are I would have thought. I just scrapped a Kia Rio. I phoned 3 companies locally and no-one offered to weigh it. I was offered £50, £80 and £100 collection or £120 if I delivered it. I drove it in, handed over the key and V5 and had a cheque in my hand for £120 before they had even looked at it.0

You will get as much for the s/s exhaust selling it separately as you will for the whole car, even if you do soak the carpets and fill up the tank with water.0
