Hi,
Just in the last couple of days my computer has been running very slowly - internet and Word - and I keep getting the following weird messages:
On switching on PC:
The server is busy the request cannot be completed....
Using Internet - Google Chrome (have used this browser for ages no probs before):
Resolving host
dns probe finished nxdomain
DNS server....(can't recall rest of this message)
Please can anyone help me to find out what is causing these error messages and the slowness and how I can fix things so they are working properly again?
AFAIK I haven't changed any settings. I use Zone Alarm firewall and Avast anti virus - both of which I have been prompted to update recently.
Many thanks in advance.

Add to that, two new ones!!!
"DNS probe possible"
"DNS Probe finished no internet"
Everything running very sluggishly.
Also from time to time on loading web pages I get a warning about a "Shock plug in" not working! Most annoying!
Pls help!0 -
Try rebooting the router to eliminate this causing the problems.0

Hi Steviebabes,
Thanks for your reply/suggestion.
I don't use a router and don't have home broadband. I use my Three mobile phone to tether the laptop. I've been using the same system for years without these problems - same laptop and same phone, with same Three mobile account.
Pls can you/anyone else suggest something else to cure these problems?
Since switching on today it has been happening less but is still happening from time to time - mostly when I'm in the middle of trying to do something important like online banking!
Many thx in advance.0
