Hello,
My partner had a loan through MBNA with PPI included in the repayments. I have seen it on the paper work.
On what grounds could she claim back the PPI?? She is first to admit that she has never been good with finance and would not have taken much notice of the statements. She does not remember being sold it or made aware that she had taken it out. The PPI repayments are approximately 2/3rd of the loan repayments.
Hope someone can advise,
Cheers.

We dont know her circumstances or how it was sold. So, why does she believe it was mis-sold? (if it was)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I can only suggest that you have a look at the guidance on this site and decide if you think any of the situations listed apply to her. If that is the case she can make a complaint. She cannot just ask for the money back without reason (well ok she can but is not likely to get a positive response).0

Ok many thanks for your replies.
It just seems every one is claiming it back regardless of miss-selling or otherwise.
Cheers I will have a look through the guidance.0 -

I appreciate that's how a lot of people in the media/CMCs touting for business portray it, but it's not the case. You need to have valid and (preferably) verifiable reasons for complaint.
One thing I will say is that if a complaint is raised, the provider is obliged to review it holistically and some cases end up being upheld for reasons that were not even mentioned in the original complaint. Also, MBNA do have a very high uphold rate at the FOS.0 -
Many thanks for your reply Insider. It is appreciated.0
