The 12 month rule will almost certainly not be in the terms of your existing mortgage. It will simply be a policy of the lender.
Your current residential mortgage is just that - a residential mortgage for you to live in/use as your main home.
Applying for CTL is a request to do something outside the terms of the residential mortgage - ie to get permission to break (one of) those terms.
So the lender has no obligation to agree at all. If they do agree, they can do so on whatever new basis they wish (eg an additional interest charge, or not), or on whatever conditions they wish (eg not within the first X months).0 -
i have read on santander websites you may apply for consent to let after 6 month and i did ring them with dummy detail to confirm that . would they allow me to apply for consent to let after 6 months? they said yes so now my question is it worth trying again after 6 month ? has anybody applied for consent to let form after 6 months or sooner to this please share your experience0
