Bidding at the last minute - is there a tool to help?

Hi All,

The last few times i've been out bid in the last 5 secs and been gutted! Anyone know how these cheeky devils do it? (... I might try it lol :) ...)

I'd really appreciate any tips!

Cheers

By bidding a higher amount than you bid. :D

Lots of info on these threads.

Free to register free to use.
But limited to 3 uses per week if you don't pay.

    Very reliable.
  • try auctionsniper.com, you have 3 free goes as an introduction and then they are 25 cents a go after that (15 pence or so ) you load your account by paypal and top it up when needed, if you refer friends etc you get 3 more free goes.

    Try Paragon Last Minute Bidder.

However, remember that whenever you bid, its the highest bid that wins.

So it doesnt matter if you bid 10 days before hand - if you bid the most you win.

Sniper software only works as people tend to make the mistake of bidding just enough to be first at the time they bid, rather than the max they are willing to pay to win the item...

I have been using auction-sentry for a long time now. You can download a trial for 30 days for free. It then costs $10 per year. I set my maximum amount to bid 5 seconds before the auction closes. Some I win, some I lose, but that would happen even if I were sitting at my computer watching an auction. This way, I go to my maximum and no more.

It is perfect for when auctions abroad close in the middle of night, or when I am out at work.

    Hi

I used auctionstealer for the first time at the w/end as an auction was finishing around 2.15am, and won the item. I was really impressed, so used it again today to bid on an item whilst at a meeting away from a PC, and it didn't bid "problem with access to ebay" apparently. So now not impressed as item went for a tenner less than I was willing to pay, and I wanted the item. I had also missed 3 other items this weekend bidding manually in the last 30 secs, so I guess snipers are becoming more prevalent, or the other bidders were better at the manual bidding than me. Hey ho that's life!

I use Sniper-Magic..think it only cost about a £5 but is available for a 10 day free download trial. It auto updates too..which is useful for times when ebay add some new security bits and bobs to !!!!-up the auto sniping programs :p .
Don't know if I'm allowed to post the site but I'm sure a "Google" will take you to the website if you want to check it out.

The best way is to put in your top offer as a first bid, then ebay will automatically bid up for you. If you keep missing out, or it's a rare item then contact the seller and ask them to keep you in mind for a second chance offer, or a buy it now auction.

Last resort try for an offline deal, officially against the rules, but it might get you the item you want, depends on how what the item is and how much you trust the seller.
